If there is no latching mechanism, what prevents racoons or other predators from prying open the door?
Automatic Coop Door Opener with Battery Kit - CKBT
Raccoons are pretty strong, and if hungry, will go to great lengths to eat. One other question here says the door can be pushed open from the inside with a "moderate" amount of force. Seems to be a massive risk that a raccoon could pry the door open enough to squeeze through the gap.
