The post brackets mount on a 4x4 or larger square post. If you are mounting on a round metal post, we sell an adapter bracket that you can purchase in addition to this kit. We make a 3-inch and 4-inch round post-adapter bracket. If you are mounting on a round wood post, you'll simply notch a flat surface in the post.
