Any kit that says "smart ready" comes with the appropriate control board to connect to the Multi Connect module. You can make it smart by adding just the AXMC-R instead of getting the entire upgrade kit.

The Smart upgrade kit for $249 says it works on any of the openers. If that's true, what's the advantage of the DS1UM if I still need this kit to make it fully smart and operational via WiFi? Your description sounds like the DS1UM already has the smart control board, but it doesn't mention the AXMC-R Interface module listed in the upgrade kit. So, it's confusing. "Smart Ready" implies something else is needed to make it a fully smart gate opener, but it's unclear what that is. I will wait to order my set up until I receive clarification to ensure I receive what I need. I need to be able to control everything remotely. Thanks!
